Why a catamaran?
.
Stability, speed, comfort
.
Stability: The two hulls of a catamaran make it inherently fast yet very stable. This stability will be appreciated by sailors and non sailors alike as well as by parents of younger children. No 'white knuckle' sailing, no hanging on for dear life, no pots and pans falling out of the cupboards. The joy of sailing a cat is in the comfort and speed.
.
Speed: Catamarans generally sail faster than their monohull cousins. The thrill of lying on the forward trampoline, watching the water rush past the hulls, is guaranteed to make you smile.
.
Comfort: There is almost double the space on a catamaran as there is on a similar size monohull. The saloon is larger, the cockpit is larger, the cabins are larger. You will always be able to find your own 'quiet space'.

Our rates:
.
Owner operated, our rates will always be 30 - 50% less than competitive charters but vary with the season and area sailed due to the different costs associated with travelling in various parts of the Mediterranean.
.
Guests making trips to shore will be equipped with a personal 2-way radio. There are two dinghies: one is a 10ft RIB with a 30hp outboard for longer distances and multiple passengers, the other is an ultralight rowing dinghy (http://www.porta-bote.com/). Our boat is equipped with a full range of modern and effective navigational accessories such as RADAR, chart plotter, VHF radio and GPS. Fishing rods, snorkel and SCUBA items are on board. The galley is fully equiped. There is even a washing machine aboard!
.
Access to the local marina/harbour is included. Also provided are: fresh towels and bed linen, a 'starter' quantity of milk, juice, coffee, tea, spring water, soda, beer and wine as well as spices, condiments, and other cooking essentials.
.
Although visiting local markets is part of the fun of discovering a new country or sailing area, a shopping service is available. Provide us with a shopping list and all of your items will be waiting for you upon arrival. We will confirm availability of any 'special' products or brands.
.
We can also assist you with travel plans and suggestions of suitable land and air transportation.

A view from the top of the mast

She sails as

smooth as

silk

The very spacious saloon

leaves plenty of

'elbow room'

The 'head' in each hull includes

What can we do on board Maverick Express ?

.
.

Maverick Express anchors out

a lot of the time

Sometimes we get up early,

watch the sunrise and

then just go back to bed for

a well deserved snoozzzzzze

.
.
.
.
.
But, when we do get up,
there are priorities ......

First a good cup of coffee,
then visit the cathedral
or the castle.

Or photograph the windmills?

.
,
.

Maybe go exploring on shore?
.
.
.
.

.

Or sit and just look at the water,
marvel at all the colours and
go for a refreshing swim

.

.
or take one of the dinghies for a ride

.

Or snorkle or maybe SCUBA the reefs?

We have gear on board and can even give

you an introduction to the sport.

.
.
Lay out for a suntan on the trampoline,

maybe .... watch the fish swim by?

or go for another swim

And towards the end of the afternoon,

relax with a drink

(we call them Sundowners)

and celebrate the end

of another great day.

.

And then, it will be time ...

to get ready for a night on the town

or listen to your favourite song on the stereo

or to just watch the sun set !

Maybe you'll even be lucky enough to see the elusive 'green flash' as the sun dips behind the horizon.

Photos of the coast of Sardinia

Sardinia is the second largest island in the Mediterranean, more than 24,000 km2

With a population density of only 66/km2 and still undiscovered by the tourist trade, it is a peaceful island.

The landscape is 88% hills and mountains, with high cliffs along the shores, many out islands, thousands of coves and bays, hundreds of sandy beaches ..... many only accessible by boat.

.
.
.
The waters of
Sardenia are
crystal clear.

Perfect for
snorkeling !

..................... Sardenia is perfect
for those who want a
relaxing sailing vacation
surrounded by
pristeen vistas,
crystal clear water,
private beaches
and an island atmosphere
largely untouched by
commercial tourism, while still having
the option of exploring small towns, harbours and
superb little restaurants.
